Le Relais Paris Opera (2010-12-20)
After some intense department stores browsing, we were too late and too hungry to travel to any of my researched restaurants, so we just went back to the direction of L'entracte and tried the one nextdoor. We got a table close enough to the street but not quite outside so
we didn't have to breathe in the cigarette smoke air.
KL wanted to try frog legs and I wanted foie gras simply for
comparison sake after last night's starter at Chartier.
The frog legs were cooked in provencale style which basically means
a tomato-based sauce. They were pretty generous with the servings
with six frogs. I tried one and man, so good! The frog
itself was not very meaty, but it was tender and the sauce
delicious. There's some high heat smokiness in the taste, yummy.
My Salade Gormande was different than what I thought it would look
like. The smoked salmon was very nice but I gave the caviar to
KL. The star of the plate was the foie gras which was much better
than the one we had in Chartier. This one was very creamy in
texture and very fragrant.
P.S. Le Relais is nextdoor to L'entracte, also opposite to the Opera Paris.
